Current Classes

Tarot Extension Workshop - This six-week class will be conducted at Aphrodite's Dove beginning Sunday, September 18th, from 1-3:45 p.m. This class is designed for tarot enthusiasts who possess some familiarity with the tarot. It offers a panoply of tarot techniques and avenues that you might not have previously unexplored. Prepare to unlock some gates--and expand your horizons.
 

Week One:        Tarot Games - Simultaneously fun and informative, tarot games afford participants the opportunity to learn tarot "without tears" and enjoy themselves simultaneously. Ever play Tarot Password? Tarot Rummy? Tarot Jeopardy? Here's your chance.

Week Two:        The Tarot Journal - This workshop will offer numerous methods and prompts for all 78 cards to inspire you to create a fully-satisfying and individual journal for yourself. We will do some
in-class journaling and sharing.

Week Three:      Those Darned Court Cards - The Court Cards seem to be challenging for most new tarot students. With role-playing and a court card permutation spread, you will "meet" these cards in a way that will make them more real and accessible.

Week Four:       Comparative Tarot - Learn techniques and tips on using the Comparative Tarot method, plus read for another using this process. If you have two or more decks, please bring two decks. I will bring an assortment of decks in case you only have one deck, or simply care to experiment with a new deck.

Week Five:        Working with Larger Spreads - I created this workshop by request. Synthesizing all of the cards in the spread can be a challenge. Learn some techniques to enable you to tell the whole story of a spread with cohesion and grace.

Week Six:           Finding Your Self Through the Tarot - Through fun and enlightening exercises and readings, discover the many facets of yourself in the tarot. You will also learn various methods to recognize loved ones, friends, and co-workers in readings.

The workshop runs for six consecutive Sunday afternoons from 1:00-3:45 p.m. The workshop will be held at Aphrodite's Dove, 713 West Avenue, Jenkintown, PA. Call 215-886-5996 to enroll now. The workshop costs $160, but if you register early, save $10--you only pay $150!

                  Beginner's Astrology - Learning to Read the Astrological Chart

When:               Wednesdays, beginning September 14th, 2005, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Week One:        Introduction to Astrology, The "Zip Code", Sun&Moon, Leo/Cancer, and the 4th and 5th Houses

Week Two:        History of Astrology,  The Primal Triad, Mars and Venus, Aries/Taurus/Libra, and the 1st, 2nd and 7th houses

Week Three:     The Planets, Aspects and Alignments, Mercury, Gemini, and the 3rd House

Week Four:       Elements, Virgo and the 6th House, Reading a Birth Chart

Week Five:       Scorpio, Pluto and the 8th House, Putting it All Together (Part 1)

Week Six:         Jupiter and Saturn, Sagittarius and Capricorn, and the 9th and 10th houses

Week Seven:    Putting it All Together (Part 2),Transits

Week Eight:      Uranus and Neptune, Aquarius, Pisces, and the 11th and 12th houses

Week Nine:      Timing and Transits

Week Ten:       Synastry and Composite Charts

Week Twelve:  Examining a chart, Closing Astrological Ritual

In this class, we will learn astrological basics through lecture, handouts, and experiential exercises. While the study of astrology is a lifelong pursuit, by the end of the class, you will be able to interpret your own
natal chart with depth and insight, and bring that knowledge to other charts, as well. Bruce Scofield's User's Guide to Astrology is the required textbook, which you will be able to purchase at Aphrodite's Dove.

The workshop runs for twelve consecutive Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The workshop will be held at Aphrodite's Dove, 713 West Avenue, Jenkintown, PA. Call 215-886-5996 to enroll now. The workshop costs $275, but if you register by September 7th, you only pay $250--saving $25!
